Chapter 1 - How to Verify a Model
Looking at all these beautiful ladies (and gentlemen) on social media offering services, you'll probably feel the need to make sure you are talking to the real model and not some shady person using their pictures to catfish an unwary horny person who just wants to have fun. You are probably asking yourself... how can I verify the legitimacy of a model?
It sounds obvious for some people to ask for a model for some kind of verification. The most popular requests are free previews, a picture holding their fingers, a video saying their name and date, or even a video call of a few seconds so you can see the person.
Others are afraid of putting their credit card information on an adult site and offer to send money using payment sites like Paypal (which, by the way, don't allow the trade of adult content).
These methods are counterproductive and are more likely to get you scammed than not.
Anyone can buy a video or picture with a pretty girl holding a sign and saying some words. These media are easily edited and look real, there are also apps that allow you to play a recorded video to look like a live stream. Everybody remembers seeing on the news about people getting scammed and blackmailed by fake online girlfriends/boyfriends, who they swear have seen pictures and even had live chats with!
So how can you be safe?
Use porn sites to buy porn!
Ok, that sounds obvious but there are so many people that just don't!
Many reasons favor using adult sites for your porn needs instead of using mainstream payment sites like Paypal, Cash App, Google Pay, Venmo, etc.
The first one is that it's against their Terms of Service to use for adult content on peer-to-peer transactions. Your account can be closed and your balance seized for breaking the ToS.
Who can guarantee that "naughtykitty69" on Paypal is the cute girl in the picture? No one. If a model uses PayPal it is always under a fake name and jumping through hoops to avoid being banned.
Most established performers rather not have all the problems that come with it. When you pay in an adult site you are 100% sure that you are paying the performer and not a catfish using her pictures.
Payments are processed by a Visa/MasterCard merchant, your personal information is not shown to the model either to the porn site. And most of them will bill your card in a very discreet way, with the name of the merchant and not the site. For example, if the site uses Segpay, it will probably show Segpay on your statement. You can always ask the model if she knows what will show on your card or read the site's FAQ if you are curious.
When you send money to a model through a legit adult site (be it a fan club type of site, a webcam directory or a porn video site), you can be sure that it's the model who is receiving it, not someone else.
But there's an even more important reason to use adult sites...
- Age Verification, contracts and taxes!
When a model joins any adult site - such as OnlyFans, they have to show ID. They sign a contract. They sign a W-9 form (or W-8 if not US resident) that informs their income to the IRS.
It guarantees that:
- the pics belong to the person you are talking to;
- taxes are being paid;
- you are talking to a person of legal age!
When you pay outside of a legit porn site you can't be sure you are talking to an adult. It goes way beyond losing a few bucks, as exchanging sexual media with a minor is a very serious crime that can put you in jail and mess up your life forever.
Is the risk worth it?
