Don't Get Scammed - Part 1

30/04/2021

Do you feel wary of trusting cam models and content creators because you can't tell who's real and who's a catfish? This guide is for you!

In the era of amateur pornography and social media, I understand it's not that easy for everyone to identify red flags and end up with the risk of being scammed.

Working in the industry for many years I've learned many tips and tricks that I want to share with you and make your experience in buying custom porn, sexting and cam sessions as smooth and risk-free as possible. This is an ongoing guide with many chapters. Enjoy :)

Chapter 1 - How to Verify a Model

Looking at all these beautiful ladies (and gentlemen) on social media offering services, you'll probably feel the need to make sure you are talking to the real model and not some shady person using their pictures to catfish an unwary horny person who just wants to have fun. You are probably asking yourself... how can I verify the legitimacy of a model?

  • What You Should NOT Do

It sounds obvious for some people to ask for a model for some kind of verification. The most popular requests are free previews, a picture holding their fingers, a video saying their name and date, or even a video call of a few seconds so you can see the person.

Others are afraid of putting their credit card information on an adult site and offer to send money using payment sites like Paypal (which, by the way, don't allow the trade of adult content).

These methods are counterproductive and are more likely to get you scammed than not.

Anyone can buy a video or picture with a pretty girl holding a sign and saying some words. These media are easily edited and look real, there are also apps that allow you to play a recorded video to look like a live stream. Everybody remembers seeing on the news about people getting scammed and blackmailed by fake online girlfriends/boyfriends, who they swear have seen pictures and even had live chats with!

So how can you be safe?

  • Use porn sites to buy porn!

Ok, that sounds obvious but there are so many people that just don't!

Many reasons favor using adult sites for your porn needs instead of using mainstream payment sites like Paypal, Cash App, Google Pay, Venmo, etc.

The first one is that it's against their Terms of Service to use for adult content on peer-to-peer transactions. Your account can be closed and your balance seized for breaking the ToS.
Who can guarantee that "naughtykitty69" on Paypal is the cute girl in the picture? No one. If a model uses PayPal it is always under a fake name and jumping through hoops to avoid being banned.

Most established performers rather not have all the problems that come with it. When you pay in an adult site you are 100% sure that you are paying the performer and not a catfish using her pictures.

Payments are processed by a Visa/MasterCard merchant, your personal information is not shown to the model either to the porn site. And most of them will bill your card in a very discreet way, with the name of the merchant and not the site. For example, if the site uses Segpay, it will probably show Segpay on your statement. You can always ask the model if she knows what will show on your card or read the site's FAQ if you are curious.

When you send money to a model through a legit adult site (be it a fan club type of site, a webcam directory or a porn video site), you can be sure that it's the model who is receiving it, not someone else.

But there's an even more important reason to use adult sites...

  • Age Verification, contracts and taxes!

When a model joins any adult site - such as OnlyFans, they have to show ID. They sign a contract. They sign a W-9 form (or W-8 if not US resident) that informs their income to the IRS.
It guarantees that:

  • the pics belong to the person you are talking to;
  • taxes are being paid;
  • you are talking to a person of legal age!

When you pay outside of a legit porn site you can't be sure you are talking to an adult. It goes way beyond losing a few bucks, as exchanging sexual media with a minor is a very serious crime that can put you in jail and mess up your life forever.

Is the risk worth it?

Why asking for verification and free previews will likely get you blocked or scammed

Let's think for a second. What can prove that someone is real: a signed contract or a picture of a girl holding a piece of paper? The IRS or a 10-second video with a girl waving?

A real company already verified that model. They checked her ID, made her sign contracts, have her full legal name and address and bank information. It's a level of verification that goes way beyond anything that you could possibly ask. And most of these sites will give you support in case the model doesn't deliver the service.

All these "verification pictures" or "free previews" can be easily faked. Besides, models are very busy people, they don't have time to keep giving preview to everyone that asks. Social media presence and profile pictures/videos exist as a form of previews.

You are more likely to be blocked or ignored because you'll be perceived as a time-waster when you ask for these things. Remember that scammers are busy trying to find new ways to scam people, they have all this material ready to send and fool you. While models are busy selling a service, I don't know any model that will give you a customized picture or live preview free. But I know many that will give you an instant block.

If you really need a live verification with the model before committing to a full booking, offer to tip her for it.

Personally, I offer a live preview for 5$. It's a symbolic price that weeds out the people who are legitimately interested from time wasters.

Other Things to Consider

  • Do adult sites take a commission on the money I send? They do. 20% like OnlyFans and ManyVids are in the lowest brackets, some big box sites like Streamate and LiveJasmin end up eating 75-80% of what a model makes;
  • What if I want the model to get 100%? The only way to buy adult content without breaking Terms of Service and without paying commission is through Crypto Currencies (like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether, etc);
  • Is Crypto (Bitcoin) safe? I love Bitcoin because it's adult-friendly and anonymous (click to read my guide on how to use it), I have to be honest to say it doesn't provide the same verification you get from a porn site. If you want to use it, make sure to do your research on the model - check if she's verified in real adult sites, check her social media and personal sites;
  • What about gift cards? It doesn't provide verification either;
  • What about wishlists? Doesn't provide verification. Also important to notice that models will only provide services for wishlist gifts when the items arrive at their house, so be mindful that this method can't be used for instant services.
  • If we can't use Paypal to pay models, why you can use it at some porn sites? You can use Paypal on some adult sites through the merchant Epoch because they have special contracts not available to individuals. The fees are very high and usually sites that take Paypal legally pay the lowest commission to models.
  • Why do adult sites take so much in commission? Adult businesses are considered "high risk" and the merchants have to pay outrageous fees only to be open. For example, I have my own LCC and the fees to have my own payment processor on this site have so many fees that I rather pay 20% to other sites than have the headache to run my own. Unfortunately, this is the reality in our system and only political actions against prejudice in business could alter this.
  • But the Model X and Y take payment on Cash App and other payment sites that don't allow adult content. Why? It can be ignorance, it can be a calculated risk (the model knows their account will eventually be banned but they are willing to take the chance), it can be a scam.

The real red flag is when all they accept is direct payment and don't have an account on any porn site.

There's so much more to be said about this subject! Next article in this series I'll talk about how to find legit models in social media and how to identify a catfish account.

The other day I logged on to ExtraLunchMoney, a site used to sell pre-recorded and custom videos, and had the unpleasant news that it would close by the end of September. I'm so sad about the end of extra lunch money, it feels like the end of an era.

I like to think of myself as a cock connoisseur. Doing live cam sessions, I see many dicks every day and love the variety of sizes, shapes and color they come and how each man has their own unique way to touch it for me. So when I started doing cam shows you can imagine how happy I was to find out one of the most popular requests is for cock rates!...

This is a very dear subject to me because I truly believe to be the owner of the world's most sensitive nipples in the world! Haha
Gotta confess, I never imagined other people would be interested in watching me play with my nipples; for a long time, it was something I did on my own.
